Group 9: 2016

I am very happy with the outcome of this font because it was truly not as straight forward as it looks! I will be using this on my website and digipak too.

Here is the process of the editing for digipak, I decided to change the look of it multiple times whilst going along with the cover; playing around with the composition and the ‘Fleek E’ text.

Within the first few seconds of this clip you can see trying to decide on a background colour, as I wasn’t too keen on having a plain background. So my first instinct was choosing a gradient background. After trying it out for a while I felt as though it didn’t look too professional and also looked quite flat. I wanted to add something that would take up the majority of the background without looking too busy. So I incorporated the crown.

After that, I resized the images to fit the crown and also give off the illusion of Fleek E sitting on the crown, and added in the parental advisory sign.

Prior to my final design, I created other digipaks which played around with the use of synergy in my ancillary work. I wanted to see the different ways I could make the house colours, costume and logos more prominent in the combination with my main music video. Here are the drafts that did not make the final cut:

47. The importance and function of digipaks to the music industry

A digipak is used as a visual representation of the artist and their style of music.
Most CD cover have close ups of the artist, so that the buyer knows whose music they are buying.
They also have a theme that runs throughout the digipak aartwork such as the colours used, the font and synergy that may have a connection to a music video produced by the artist.

The theme of flowers in rihanna's music video for only girl in the world carried on into the ancillary of the CD cover which includes roses. This is how her digipak displayed synergyby using the roses as a clear and obvious link.

pictures im using for my digipak

While we was filming we took several pictures and did a photo shoot for our artist but the in-vision i had for my digipak wouldn't of worked with the pictures we had. So i decide to take pictures myself because there wasn't much time i just used my camera to take close ups, As our main idea for our artist to always be on 'fleek' i decided to concentrate on my face especially my eyebrows and eyelashes as its the definition of 'fleek'. Because my hair is different from all the previous pictures and music video ive decided to use a close up as youll be more concentrate on the face than the hair.
from looking at other artist digipacks with the same genre i've decided to make a cartoon version of my face. My artist is a more serious character so i've decided not to smile at the camera.
